We want you to absolutely love your Coast+Salt purchase. Because fragrance is a personal experience and our products are personal care items, we’ve outlined our return and exchange policy below to ensure clarity. Please review the details carefully before requesting a return or exchange.
Due to the personal nature of fragrance and body products, we accept returns and exchanges only on items that are unopened, unused, and in original packaging.
Requests for a return or exchange must be submitted within 7 days of delivery, based on the USPS-confirmed delivery date. Requests submitted outside this timeframe will not be eligible for return or exchange.
Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging.
We are unable to accept returns on items that have been opened, used, or altered in any way.
To request a return or exchange, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. Once approved, return instructions will be provided.
Refunds are issued after the returned item is received and inspected at our studio.
Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment. Please allow 5–10 business days for your refund to process, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error on our part.
Errors on our part include:
Receiving the wrong item
Receiving an incorrect size or variant
Items damaged in transit
In these cases, we will cover return shipping and provide a prepaid return label.
We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit back to our studio.
To help customers find their preferred scent, we offer a Sample Set and strongly encourage its use prior to purchasing full-size products. Full-size items are not intended for scent testing. Orders or requests identified as excessive, inconsistent, or indicative of policy abuse are not eligible for return, refund, or replacement. We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel orders to prevent misuse of our policies.
Exchanges are subject to product availability.
If the requested exchange item is unavailable, a refund will be issued once the return is received and inspected.
Customers are responsible for all shipping costs:
Shipping the original item back to our studio.
Shipping the replacement item selected.
All returned items are subject to inspection upon receipt. To be eligible for a refund or exchange, items must arrive in new, unused, and undamaged condition, with original packaging intact.
If an item shows signs of use, damage, tampering, or alteration, the return will be deemed ineligible, and the refund or exchange will be voided. In such cases, the item will be returned to the sender at the customer’s expense.
Sale items, promotional items, discontinued products, and Archive Collection items are final sale and are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges.
We take great care in packaging every Coast+Salt order, but occasionally items may be damaged during shipping. If your order arrives damaged, we will replace it at no cost to you.
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include photos of the shipping box and damaged item.
Once approved, we will ship a replacement promptly.
No return of the damaged item is required unless specifically requested.
Customers are not responsible for shipping costs for replacements due to damaged items.
Damage resulting from improper handling, storage, or transportation is not considered a product defect and is not eligible for a refund, return, or exchange. Our products are not designed to withstand significant pressure, impact, or friction caused by being stored loosely with other items. Any breakage or damage occurring under these conditions is considered accidental damage and is not covered under our return or exchange policy. Proper storage and careful handling are required to preserve product integrity.
In the event a package is marked as delivered but not received, customers are encouraged to:
Claims of non-receipt for orders confirmed as delivered by USPS or any carrier may be denied. We reserve the right to refuse refunds or replacements for orders where delivery has been confirmed.
Coast+Salt does not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for products purchased through any retail partner, third-party marketplace, or other seller. Returns or exchanges for such items must be handled directly with the retailer from which the purchase was made.
Scent perception can vary based on skin chemistry, environment, and product age. A difference in personal scent perception does not constitute a product defect.
Packaging updates do not affect the fragrance formulation unless explicitly stated.
